RYAN LICHTENBERGER

My education experience is mostly in computer science and CAD. Ive worked in IT, as a file clerk for a law firm, espresso machine repair tech, and as a mechanic. I worked in NYC for a number of years fixing computers and traveling to various offices. During that time I went to the Guggenheim to see the Hilma AF Klint exhibit. While I was there I had such an intense experience that I had to start painting again. Sometimes I hadn't done in almost 10 years at the time.  Since then I haven't stopped and only  worked to expand my ability as an artist. That was 7 years ago.

Artist Statement

There are 2 bodies of work Photography and painting. As a photographer / print maker  I am trying to capture raw aesthetic beauty. Where as in my paintings I am trying to convey pure emotion thru form and color. Sometimes the photos service are a reference for painting. I love playing with forms and colors more then just trying to represent the world. To make you feel something that reality can't show you directly. I use mostly acrylic paint and pencil to create all of my work. I use old photos 16 mm movies, and my photos as references.
