Denva Beaubrun
I'm Denva Beaubrun, a Computer Science student at Brooklyn College, CUNY, with a Creative Writing minor, graduating January 2027. I work across writing, graphic design, and web development, bringing a multidisciplinary approach to everything I create. As Creative Content Liaison at bluedress internet marketing, I write content and design graphics for social media posts across multiple client accounts. I also worked at Stageplays Theatre, where I designed play posters and helped keep the website updated. I'm the author of a completed thriller novel currently being queried to literary agents. For me, the most interesting work happens when disciplines overlap and I get to move between all of them.
Artist Statement
Writing has always been important to me, whether for school, personal projects, or just for myself. What matters most is that it flows and keeps someone reading. For me, building a world through writing is like watching a movie. I wasn't always a good writer. It was the hardest skill to pick up when I first came to America. But growing up I took a liking to it, began writing stories and poetry in middle school, and never stopped. Even school assignments were fun to me. Whether an essay on photosynthesis or a newsletter on a book, my goal was always the same: make it clear, make it interesting, and keep the reader with you. Today I continue writing across different contexts. I write blog posts and social media captions for a marketing company. Also book reviews, and writings from the perspective of artists on their art. I don't like using big words, for me, writing is like a conversation with the reader.
