Lesny JN Felix paints abstract surreal mind-scapes since 2005. He has a daily zen practice of painting in his Harlem studio in New York.
He is known for detailed large abstract canvases, public murals and interiors, and wall paintings.
Recently, he started something new in a different scale, medium and price range and began to paint plant pots with his trademark floating shapes and colors. He likes to test every other medium to paint on. Versatility is important to him.
Art accessibility is equally important to him, choosing pop cultural themes and everyday mediums people use. Creating with many influences and mediums, he says, challenges his hand and eye coordination, which to him is “as essential as breathing.’”
Lesny JN Felix gravitates towards primary, bright, acrylic colors and joyfully flowing shapes. This is his signature style and rooted in his childhood in the colorful Caribbean.
His “organic inner being” creates his artwork, he explains. It “triggers the viewer’s excitement and opens up their curiosity beyond the normal perception of reality”.
Call it ‘micro-dosing’ of Lesny JN Felix’s art. The more you look, the more you discover and are mesmerized by it. It’s down the rabbit hole.
