Artist Statement
My work navigates a space between worlds—between generations, identities, and ancestral histories. As someone from a diaspora, I create from within the gap: a place of deep, often unseen connections. My practice is a process of bridging that space, giving form to the confusion while acknowledging its inherent intergenerational experience. I go through an intuitive cycle when I create. It is my personal way to reach back, to grasp the threads of memory, and to stitch together both cultural and familial inheritance.Often through elements like movement, texture, and color, I explore themes of ancestry, memory, and spirituality. I ask myself: how does this act represent the callback- can others hear the call too?
